Karius Ready to Seize the Number One Position in Liverpool from Mignolet
Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius is ready to regain the number one goalkeeper from Simon Mignolet. The German goalkeeper judged he had no reason to surrender.
Karius had performed 10 times for Liverpool in the Premier League. However, a number of blunders made him shifted to the bench until the end of the season.
The former Mainz goalkeeper was not satisfied. For him, 10 appearances are not enough to be a Liverpool club class goalkeeper.
“Of course I hope my inaugural season is more positive. In the holidays I train with fitness trainers to get the strength needed to play the maximum,” said Karius.
Related to his competition with Mignolet, Karius was not worried.
The 24-year-old is confident of showing to Liverpool coach Juergen Klopp that he is fit to stay at Anfield.
“I know Klopp believes me, or why should he buy me from Mainz? Now my job is to answer that trust,” said Karius.
“Klopp is a coach who demands a lot from his players, but I’ve talked to him and felt everything went well at the club,” he continued.
